Marsa Stichting is registered as an ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) with the Dutch Tax Authority.
Marsa Stichting aims to support and promote freedom of creativity and expression by financially and organizationally supporting the cultural, artistic, film, and media activities and spaces in countries and/or areas where such support is lacking.
Objectives include: supporting cultural spaces; building capacity of artists and practitioners; elevating the quality of independent art and film; promoting innovative creative talent; increasing international awareness of marginalized art and culture; promoting diverse perspectives; advancing cultural education; and supporting communities affected by conflict or social disadvantage.

The board members receive no remuneration for their work as board members. This follows Article 3, paragraph 5 of the foundation's statutes, which provides that no remuneration is paid to the board members for their work, nor are costs incurred by them reimbursed. The board members serve on a voluntary basis.
The property of the foundation serves to pursue its objects. As set out in Article 3, paragraph 4, no person, whether an individual or a legal entity, can dispose of the foundation's funds as if these were their own. The foundation does not pursue a profit.
A board member may, on occasion, be engaged for work that is separate from the duties of the board, where that work requires his professional expertise for a specific programme of the foundation. Such work is agreed in a written service agreement and is paid at rates in keeping with the Fair Practice Code and the guidelines of the Kunstenbond. Where a board member has a direct or indirect personal interest in such an engagement, he informs the board and does not take part in the deliberation or the decision, in accordance with Article 5, paragraphs 9 and 10. The engagement is recorded in the annual financial statements.

Marsa Foundation's accounts and assets are supervised by at least two of three Executive Directors at all times. Financial accounts are reviewed and signed by the full board annually.
Marsa Stichting is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy.
Data we collect: Name and email address, provided voluntarily when you email us or subscribe to our newsletter.
Purpose: Contact data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. Newsletter subscribers receive program announcements and updates from Marsa Foundation.
Legal basis: Explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) AVG). You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us directly.
Retention: Contact data is retained for no longer than 12 months. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.
Your rights: You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
